Easily customize your Conversation AI assistant
Learn how to customize your Conversation AI assistant through our Leads solution within DirectHub.
- Log in to DirectHub.
- Click Leads in the top navigation bar.
-
If you have already signed up to our Leads Application, enter your email address and password and click "Sign In" button.
- If you haven't not already logged in, click Create an Account. You will need to enter in information about your business.
- Once logged into our Leads platform, click AI on the left-hand side menu.
- Click AI Workforce.
- Click Configure under "Chat Receptionist".
- Click the Name field under the avatar image. You can change the name of your AI chatbot to whatever you would like! You can also change the avatar image by clicking on the placeholder image.
- Under the "Profile" section on the right, click the down arrow next to Purpose.
- Purpose is used to help define how your Conversation AI should behave when asked specific questions. You can "train" your Conversation AI to ensure it only provides the answers you want it to provide to any prospective leads or existing customers.
-
Click within the Purpose field. By default, there are "##" next to preset responses. You will want to remove the "##" from each sentence in order for your Conversation AI to understand it. You can also remove any of these preset responses that do not align with your business. Below are some ideas of potential purpose statements you may want to give your Conversation AI:
- If the AI is unable to answer a question, what should it do? For example, "If unable to answer a question, provide X phone number and X email".
- If the customer becomes frustrated what should the AI do? Maybe direct them to a phone number or email address.
- You can change the Generative AI that you want your Conversation AI to use under "Profile". We recommend using what is preset: GPT 4.1.
-
Under the "Channels" section, you will see Settings under the "Respond to [Your Business Name]". Here is where you can review color settings, change color scheme, and placement of the chatbot on your website.
-
Within "Settings", you can change the Welcome Greeting and the Initial AI Message for your Conversation AI. Under Appearance, update the colors and placement of Conversation AI on your website. Once you have adjusted your settings, be sure to click Save.
- Click the <-- arrow to navigate back to your Configuration.
- If you scroll down on the right-hand side, at the bottom you can see "Knowledge Sources". This area allows you to add any outside documentation, URLs, etc., to help train your Conversation AI to ensure it can answer your customers' questions accurately.
- To add a new Knowledge Source, click the Add Knowledge > Add new knowledge.
- Select from Text, Website, and File Upload.
- To set up a website, click Website.
- Enter the URL.
- Add the name of the website.
- Under Mode, make sure Follow links is selected. This will crawl your website for knowledge sources.
-
Click the Enable automatic refresh checkbox. By clicking this checkbox, this will pickup any new pages added to your website and automatically and add them to Conversation AI's knowledge set.
- Click Next and then click Save.
- Success! You have completed setting up your Conversation AI!
